Aim & Methods:
To enable hotel staff who speak English as a foreign language to use the English language confidently at work by practising essential vocabulary and dialogue associated with working in a hotel. We use a variety of methods to explore language vital to hotel work, including role play, information exchange, word focus, sentence focus, and pronunciation training

Materials:
The original course materials are provided for participants to keep. We also provide a complimentary A4 ring-binder, notebook and pen for each student. Please note that course materials can be tailored so that participants focus on words and sentences to do with your hotel and location. We are happy to discuss this option with you when you book

About the Trainer:
The course writer and trainer is Matt Purland, an experienced lecturer and author in the English language field. He has been teaching foreign students in the UK and overseas for over six years, and currently works in Poland, teaching for Empik School and British School, as well as running private lessons with groups and individuals. He has a BA Honours degree in Drama from the University of Wales and a Postgraduate Certificate in Further Education from the University of Derby.

He has written over 1,000 photocopiable worksheets for learning English, which have been collected together and published in four books - Big Grammar Book, Big Activity Book, Big Resource Book, and Check It Again! - as well as on a CD-ROM - ELT Resource Bank. Most recently he has published a spoken English manual - Talk a Lot Elementary Book 1 - as well as creating all of the materials for this course.

In 2002 he launched English Banana.com, which has become a highly popular English language learning resource website with over 2 million pages viewed per month. He has one year's experience of working full-time in a guest house owned by an international charity in England
